Booking and Airbnb often attract different guests. Booking can deliver strong international hotel-style demand, while Airbnb highlights the character of a riad, villa or apartment. For many Moroccan operators, using both channels makes commercial sense.
The risk appears when each extranet becomes a separate calendar. A reservation confirmed on one channel must immediately reduce availability everywhere else. Manual updates are difficult to maintain during busy weekends, events and high season.
Use the PMS as the source of truth
The operating calendar should live in Hotel PMS or Rental PMS. The Channel Manager distributes that inventory and brings new reservations back to the same source.
This architecture also protects direct reservations. A phone booking or website booking must close the same dates on Booking and Airbnb instead of remaining invisible outside the front desk.
Synchronize more than open and closed dates

Monitor the dates where errors cost the most
Double bookings usually become visible when demand is highest and alternative accommodation is expensive. Review public holidays, festivals, conferences and high-season periods before they become operational emergencies.
Teams should also review modified reservations. Date changes, partial cancellations, extensions and owner blocks are common sources of availability differences.
Measure channel quality, not only volume
A channel that creates many reservations may also create high commissions, cancellations or short lead times. Compare revenue, net margin, cancellation rate and guest profile across Booking, Airbnb and direct sales.
